Divinity original sin 1 and 212/30/2023 ![]() ![]() In 1 you can’t even talk to anyone as your secondary characters. The main differences I’ve found are that the story is better in 2 and 2 feels more D&D like in that your party is more independent and have their own goals, which I REALLY liked. People liked divinity 1 but tbh i was pretty surprised that divinity 2 was lauded as game of the year by all these AAA games journalists, because it’s pretty similar to 1, honestly. It's a great game with some clear places they improved upon in 2. Some books as well, like example there is a book a trader sells that isn't normally a trader but technically is, that if you read you can then open up a giant loot chest at the end of a big fight, way later in the game. Fortunately you'll learn very quickly that most of the quests are easy enough if you pay attention and read all the dialogue. The journal is even harder to follow, and you'll very frequently find yourself on the edge of just googling a quest step. You lose all your skills and must re-acquire every skillbook when you respec, and it costs money, and it's not available until too late in the game to make that big a difference The skills system is a bit more wonky, and re-speccing is expensive and punishing. As in, there isn't an armor bar that "protects" you from being CC'd, you can always be cc'd unless you're immune to it. Loved 1, played the EE.Ĭombat is different, it's more reliant on CC, which is completely and totally percentage based in Div1. ![]() Vendor Prices, Bartering & Attitude Formula Level Up: Attribute, Skill & Talent Point Breakdown The Quick Questions and Looking for Group Threads exist for a reason, use them. >!This is spoilery!< to get This is spoilery Submissions should relate to Divinity Original Sin or other works of Larian Studios.ĭo not put spoilers in the title of your post and mark your posts. I really dont know which one is better, both of them are just so damn good! Well thanks for your great answer. I really dont know which one is better, both of them are just so damn good! which is a Mixed team.ĭoS2 tends towards either making a Phys based team or a Magic based team. Some aspects of DoS1 (Lore) carry over to DoS2 but it won't ruin your DoS2 experience if you don't play it.ĭoS2 has free character respecs, DoS1 has char respec but it costs you your skills.ĭoS1 really tends towards a team of: 1 Knight, 1 Archer, 2 Mages. DoS2 doesn't.ĭoS2 has more freedom overall when attempting quests and moving around the map. DoS2 story progression is easier.ĭoS1 makes you think about using Teleport Pyramids. I suggest getting a guide to help you progress at the start if you are getting pissed off at it. DoS1 maps are a bit more flat and require more thinking to plan out your attacks.ĭoS1 start of the game is really annoying if you haven't played a divinity game. There are many high ground advantages in DoS2. DoS1 has better NPC storylines.ĭoS2 has much larger and more in depth maps. DoS2 makes you a thief to get profit.ĭoS2 has better characters. This could be bias since I played DoS1 prior to DoS2 so I had some experience.ĭoS1 makes you abuse crafting to get profit. ![]() I prefer DoS1 because the encounters in DoS1 required me to think a lot more than DoS2. ![]() How much time do you have? DoS1 will set you back 100+ hours easily, the same with DoS2.ĭoS1 has very different combat than DoS2. Originally posted by Winged Hussar:Is it really necessary and worth playing?
